I am new to Google Analytics, but I have installed it on 2 ZenCart shops by doing the following:
1. Open /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/common/html_header.php
2. Insert the Tracking code just before </head>
3. Upload the new html_header.php file.
4. In the Google Analytics Profile page, make sure “E-Commerce Website” is set to yes.
5. In your site’s profile, for “Default page”, put in: index.php, index.php?main_page=, index.php?main_page=index
I think that’s all you need to do.

Google Analytics Integration with Drupal:
Google Analytics is Google’s free statistics package, originally based on the Urchin system.
For webmasters to make use of Google Analytics you would normally need to insert some Javascript containing the unique Google Analytics account number (in the format UA-XXXXXX-X) in to the header or footer of every page.
This could be achieved by editing the Drupal template page.tpl.php. However, this would then mean you cannot run multiple sites from the same base theme template.
This module allows you to enter your Google Analytics account number into the modules settings page located at ?q=admin/settings/googleanalytics. It will then automatically add the required Javascript to the footer of every page generated by Drupal.
The Drupal Google Analytics module is currently available from the
module downloads.

Google Analytics 1.7.0-ga
Released Jan 05, 2011 by Adds a Google Analytics tag to every HTML page of your website. Updated to add the new style Google Analytics code but also retains the legacy code as an option.
Quote from Google:
The new Google Analytics tracking code (ga.js) has been launched and is now available for you to use when you set up a profile. Installing the lighter ga.js code snippet instead of the old tracking code (urchin.js, “legacy”) lets you take advantage of upcoming advanced features and sophisticated reporting while keeping the reliable tracking capabilities of urchin.js. For these reasons, we recommend installing ga.js instead of urchin.js.
